The casino has featured in many famous movie scenes, including several James Bond films and Ocean’s Twelve. Many of the world’s wealthiest sports stars have homes in Monte Carlo and can occasionally be seen around Casino Square. The Principality also plays host to the most famous motorsport event in the world, with the Monaco Grand Prix seeing Formula One cars race around the city-state each May.
In the afternoon, we will visit the Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild. Designed by the French architect Aaron Messiah in the early 20th century for Baroness Beatrice de Rothschild, the villa’s gardens are classified as one of the Notable Gardens of France. After our day exploring Monaco, we returned to Cannes.
Spend today in Cannes at leisure, shopping for last-minute souvenirs or enjoying a coffee or a glass of wine at one of the many cafes and restaurants that line the Boulevard de la Croisette. A final evening of indulgence will be the perfect way to say “au revoir” to the Cote d’Azur.
